Netscope Download for Mac

Support

Most questions are answered below. For anything else, write to support@netscope.app and you will hear back within 2 working days.

Which Macs are supported?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 26 or later.
Is it safe to download?
Yes. The download is signed with our Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without warnings.
Where are my passwords and keys stored?
In the macOS Keychain. macOS may ask once per item whether Netscope may use it. Choose "Always Allow" to stop it asking again.
Can I use my ~/.ssh/config and ssh-agent?
Not directly. Netscope runs in the macOS App Sandbox, which keeps it out of ~/.ssh. Import your keys into Netscope (or point a session at a key file) and create sessions from your config. Jump hosts and per-session options cover most of what ssh_config does.
My old switch will not connect.
Enable the legacy algorithms in the session's or folder's settings, under Algorithms. When negotiation fails, Netscope shows which algorithms each side offered so you can see exactly what to enable.
Which serial adapters work?
Adapters with drivers that create a /dev/cu.* device: FTDI, Prolific, Silicon Labs CP210x and most USB-C console cables.
How do I move to a new Mac, or use two Macs?
Use library sync with a shared folder (iCloud Drive works), or run Backup on the old Mac and Restore on the new one. Keys are per Mac by design, so each Mac needs its own key enrolled on the hosts.
Coming from SecureCRT?
In the session list, open the ⋯ menu and choose Import from SecureCRT. It reads your SecureCRT sessions, including folders.
Does Netscope collect data?
No. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
I found a bug.
Email support@netscope.app with the app version (Netscope › About), macOS version and what you did. If a connection is involved, the diagnosis sheet's text helps a lot.
