Netscope Download for Mac

Privacy policy

Netscope has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. This page explains what the app does with your data, in full.

Last updated 7 November 2026. Applies to Netscope for macOS by LNDIN Networks AB.

What we collect

Nothing. Netscope has no user accounts, sends no analytics, contains no crash reporter of its own and no third-party SDKs that phone home. We do not know who uses the app or how.

Where your data lives

  • Passwords, passphrases and private keys are stored in the macOS Keychain, protected by the system.
  • Your session library (sessions, folders, snippets, tunnels, settings) is stored in the app's sandbox container on your Mac.
  • Library sync, if you turn it on, writes the library (never the keys or passwords) to a folder you pick, for example in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or on a NAS. That provider's own policy then applies to that folder.
  • Logs and recordings are written only where you tell the app to write them.
  • Backups are single files that you create and keep yourself.

Network connections the app makes

Netscope connects to the hosts you connect to: SSH, Telnet, SFTP, FTP, tunnels and the diagnostic tools all talk to the addresses you enter. In addition, some tools contact public services, and each one names the service on screen:

  • Speed Test uses public speed test servers.
  • My Network's public-IP lookup asks a public IP echo service.
  • Whois / RDAP, DNS Lookup, NTP Check and Mail & DNS Health query the registries, resolvers and servers you name.
  • Traceroute's AS-path view looks up AS numbers through public RDAP or DNS-based services.
  • MAC Address vendor lookups use the IEEE OUI list bundled with the app. No request is made.

None of these requests include anything about you beyond the query itself and your IP address, which any network request carries.

Purchases

If Netscope is bought through the Mac App Store, Apple handles the purchase and receipt. We receive no personal data from Apple about you.

Support email

When you email support@netscope.app, we keep the conversation for as long as it takes to help you and for a reasonable time after, in case you write again. We do not share it.

Children

Netscope is a professional tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date and mentioned in the changelog.
